Finding Solace in Despair: A Letter to a Friend

Dear Jack,

My family hasn't asked me yet how your surgery went.  I feel so alone. I'm hurting. They found my Dad dead on his bathroom floor yesterday...I keep looking for you. I was stronger yesterday but I feel desperate today. I don’t want to ask for help. I miss you so much I can't even talk. I don’t know who to talk to even if I could. God should be enough. I'm talking to a freaking Lizard on my wall. Please pray for me.

Love, Kate

Sometimes your friends aren’t there, your family isn’t there and you feel desperate and alone. Ultimately you come to realize that all you really have for sure is God. He designs these times to make us turn to Him. And sometimes to a Lizard on the wall, who in this case was a designated angel that increased Kate’s faith in prayer, in Heaven and in the Unseen World.
