Dear Jack,
How do I move on? I don’t know how. I have to be honest. I don’t want to move on. I’m afraid she will forget me…I can’t bear the thought.
Do you really think she could forget you? Do you think you could possibly forget her? She made you her Everything; she will not ever forget you. See her face, her eyes, her love, her offering of everything she is. She wanted to give you everything. She still does.
This is why we are your greatest gift. We live for our master on earth. We are your Beloved, forever. We are, each and every one of us, a little piece of Heaven sent to you to bless you, to love you and to be loved by you. It's all By Design. It's all about the love we live and the love that waits for you at Rainbow Bridge when the time is ripe for you to return Home. Every day we are one day closer to being reunited.
Love, Jack

You think if you stop grieving that you will lose me. You are afraid that if you love again that you will grow away from me. You can never lose me. Someday you will see that I was with you all along. You will find out that what you have loved you can never lose. - Reflections
About this letter
This letter is part of Jack McAfghan: Letters From Rainbow Bridge. A reader asks how to move on, admits they do not want to, and is afraid that their girl will forget them. Jack's reply answers that fear directly.
What Jack says about being remembered
Jack asks two simple questions: do you really think she could forget you, and could you forget her? He tells the reader that their pet made them her everything and will never forget them, and he describes pets as little pieces of Heaven sent to bless us. The letter ends with the thought that every day brings us one day closer to being reunited.
Moving forward without letting go
Moving on does not mean forgetting. Many people find that they carry their pet with them in small ways, through photos, rituals, a memorial or simply stories told to others. You can keep the bond and still allow yourself to heal.
