Dear Jack,
My girl crossed over Rainbow Bridge. My heart is broken. Will it ever heal?
Some people don’t realize that the heart has a purpose other than beating and circulating blood through the body. It is more than an anatomical part. It is the key to everything.
You forget that your heart is stronger than anything. It is its very nature to heal from grief. I know this firsthand, for the heartbeat is the first thing that brings you into this life and the last thing to leave.
We live on in each other’s hearts. You think she broke your heart when she left but it just feels broken because you now associate her with sadness and loss. You are experiencing the heartache that comes with sorrow. Someday you'll see that she made you stronger. Someday you will know that your heart was never broken at all. That’s when you’ll return to the power of your heart where you will feel only love, sentimentality and appreciation. You will no longer suffer the memory of the loss. You will embrace the fact that she came to you, shared time on the earth with you and now waits for you until the end of time.
The heart is the key. The heart lives in the NOW. Love lives in the NOW. Fear and love cannot coexist and if you keep healing and growing, this means that you will come to live in a state of mind that has no fear. Love is patient and so is she - and this is what she’s waiting for.
No matter how long she is gone from your sight, you are always together in the home of your hearts. Your heart will come out of this stronger than it ever was before. Your heart is made up of all the soulmates you’ve come to love in every lifetime. Eventually, if you live long enough, your heart will be completely made up of pieces of heaven. Your heart will be full to capacity with love until, one day, it will be time for you to cross the bridge too.
Love, Jack
