Finding Strength in Faith: Coping with Deep Loss and Grief

Dear Jack,
My strength comes only from God because he is carrying me through all of this even though my faith has faltered. I have lost so many – almost all of my family, including my young son. I try to keep going, sharing, living…but it’s hard. I keep rewinding back to the days when we were all together, one big happy family…

I am very sorry for your losses. You are blessed to have the gift of seeing beyond your own needs. Not everyone can. Sometimes people of great faith are tested more than the others. God is always trying to teach you to pay it forward, that your eternal rewards wait for you in Heaven and those of you who put Him first -- remaining with Him and believing in Him even as you struggle to transcend the pain of losing your loved ones -- those rewards will be great. When you are tested here, God always gives you something to keep you moving forward in this life...as you become more than you ever dreamed of becoming.
Love, Jack
