Finding Peace: Understanding Pets' Final Moments

Dear Jack,
I have had such a hard time letting go of my guilt for not being home when my girl passed. I have never thought of it from their point of view, how you say that our sadness triggers their sadness. Going to try really hard to find peace so she can be happy!!

I’m so sorry for your stress over the situation with your girl. All of it was out of your control, out of your hands.

Please don't take it personally but many pets - no matter how much they love someone - will find a way to pass alone. Your girl found a way to pass on her own terms, which is a better alternative than some.  Many pets left to their own devices can close their eyes and just go to sleep and not wake up.

There is no such thing as guilt in the mind of a pet so do try to let go of that. Guilt is just something humans designed so they can feel bad and hold each other accountable for their well-being. Pets have no need of guilt. They have no need for something that doesn’t really exist.
Love, Jack
