When It's Time to Say Goodbye: Pet Loss and Grief

Interview with Monique Brignoni & Nita Daryanani

Monique Brignoni is a sacred pet death doula trainer, multi-sensory animal intuitive, international speaker, soul coach, meditation instructor, heart facilitator, and crystalline soul healing practitioner. She is part of the faculty of The SHIFT Network.

As a pet doula trainer and spiritual initiator, Monique trains and certifies emerging pet doulas to become leaders in a new paradigm of animal end-of-life care — one guided not by fear or external authority alone, but by intuition, sovereignty, and sacred awareness. Her students describe her trainings as life-changing.

Monique's mission is to restore divine connection to the end-of-life experience, so that love remains present, grief heals, and both animals and humans are honored in their full spiritual journey.

Her work is rooted in over ten years of dedicated research into the physical, emotional, energetic, and spiritual dimensions of dying — building a body of knowledge that brings genuine relief to pet parents navigating one of life's most tender passages.

Pet Death Doula•  Teacher •  Founder of Animalchemy

Monique Brignoni is an animal communicator, consciousness mentor, and educator dedicated to helping people deepen their connection with animals and navigate the profound journey of life, death, and transformation alongside their companions.

Through her work at Animalchemy, Monique supports pet parents in understanding the emotional, energetic, and spiritual dimensions of their relationships with animals.

Her approach combines intuitive communication, spiritual insight, and practical guidance to help people recognize the wisdom animals bring into our lives. Monique teaches that animals often mirror our emotions and energy, offering opportunities for awareness, healing, and personal growth when we learn to listen with openness and presence.

Following the loss of her beloved cat, Monique devoted years to studying the natural end-of-life process for animals, exploring how compassion, awareness, and conscious presence can support both pets and their human families during life’s most tender transitions.

Today, Monique mentors pet parents and trains aspiring pet death doulas around the world, guiding them to approach the end-of-life journey with dignity, peace, and deeper understanding. Her work encourages people to see animals not only as companions, but as wise teachers who help us grow in compassion, awareness, and love.

A Note From Nita

"Monique came into my life when I was going through the deepest grief — my mother had just passed, and my golden retriever Oliver was transitioning. What she gave me wasn't just knowledge about pet loss. It was wisdom that applied to every loss, every farewell. She literally helped me walk my pet home."

If you or someone you know is facing this journey, please share this interview. It will change how you walk through it.

Walk Your Pet Home Course

Most of us spend years learning how to care for our pets — their nutrition, their training, their health. But when a terminal diagnosis arrives, we find ourselves completely unprepared for the one phase that matters most. Monique Brignoni spent over ten years researching what actually happens when an animal is dying — physically, emotionally, energetically, and spiritually. What she discovered changed everything. The fear, the panic, the guilt, the years of unresolved grief — none of it is inevitable. It is simply the result of not knowing.

Walk Your Pet Home is a self-study course with live sessions, born from that decade of research and Monique's own grief journey. It is designed for pet parents who want to walk this passage with knowledge, calm, and sacred awareness — not just to survive it, but to experience it as the profound, loving farewell it was always meant to be. Students write to Monique after completing it saying things like: "Fluffy died yesterday, and it was beautiful." Not because grief doesn't exist — but because it healed along the way, during the journey, exactly as it was meant to.

Animalchemy - Walk Your Pet Home with Monique Brignoni

The course is structured in two parts:

Part One — Expanding Your Consciousness
Understanding energy, the human-animal connection, and how to deepen your bond with your animal companion. This part applies whether you have a puppy or a pet facing a terminal diagnosis.

Part Two — The End-of-Life Process
What is actually happening physically, emotionally, and energetically at each stage. What the signs really mean. How to read your pet's process without panic. How to support without intervening unnecessarily. And how to create a transition that honors your animal's full spiritual journey.

Who this is for:
Pet parents who have received a terminal diagnosis and want to walk forward with knowledge instead of fear. Pet parents still carrying grief from a loss that wasn't well-understood. Anyone who loves an animal and wants to be fully present for them — at any stage of life.

Format: Self-study modules with access to live sessions for personal questions and deeper exploration.

At the heart of this conversation is an invitation that many pet parents quietly need but rarely receive — the knowledge to face one of life's most difficult passages without fear. Monique Brignoni reminds us that our animals are not just companions we love, but wise, aware beings who are fully present to their own journey, including its end.

As Monique shares what she has spent over a decade researching, she reveals that the dying process — in animals and humans alike — carries its own intelligence. The body knows what it is doing. The energy expands. The suffering we project onto our pets is often not what they are actually experiencing. And when we understand this, everything changes.

Rather than arriving at a terminal diagnosis unprepared and terrified, Monique invites us into a different way — one where we walk alongside our animals with presence, calm, and genuine knowing. Where the final weeks become some of the most beautiful, not the most traumatic. Where grief heals during the journey rather than haunting us for years after. And where the bond between a pet and their person is honored, completely, all the way to the last breath and beyond.
