Oliver the Yorkie: The Little Hero Who Mended Our Hearts

I lost my lil boy Jack and I was devastated. It took three years for me to find Oliver. I had moved my mom to Tennessee from Florida to care for her. All I heard was, "I don't want a dog," etc. When I brought Oliver home, it was love at first sight. All I heard now was, "Let's go home, the baby is alone," "Let's bring the baby a cookie, toy," etc.

Then mom got sick. Oliver NEVER left her side until she passed. I knew then he was special. He was about a year old. He was housebroken in less than two days and never had an accident since.

A few of his quirks: when he's hungry, he stands by the fridge and growls a cute little noise. When he's thirsty, he goes to the sink AND he wants a fresh bowl for every drink! If he wants a cookie, he goes to the pantry—he spends a lot of time there! Lastly, when he wants his green beans, he'll kinda jump at the stove because he knows I heat them in the microwave above the stove. I never taught him any of this.

He dines on fresh chicken, green beans, and sweet potatoes. God help us all if it's not sprinkled with shredded cheese. In the morning (mom started this), he gets bread and butter—no crust, and if pieces are too big, he won't eat it. Ugh...go mom! If I go out without him, I'd better bring him a surprise or there will be hell to pay!

This is a sampling of my life with Oliver. He's beyond spoiled, but I can't imagine my life without him!
